A couple of days ago I decided it was the right moment to do my WWKP session at 'De Wierschuur' on Terschelling. I was hoping for a desolate setting, but I soon found out there were guests at this holiday shed.

I kindly asked one of the guests if it was OK to make pictures of the shed, and after I explained the whole intention of my endeavour the group was very willing to help me getting the banner in full display on the roof of the kitchen shed.

It was a great hour of KAP which we ended with a drink and a slide show on their laptop.

Pictures can be found on flickr and on this site.

Sunday, October 11th 2009

I just received an e-mail from Fabian. He was able to do his thing this morning before hell broke loose again (rain and such).

Anyway, he will send the banner to Zaandijk and maybe I'll be able to do a banner session on Wednesday, being my non-professional day. Otherwise it will be part of our baggage for our holiday to Terschelling. There I can personally hand it over to our esteemed Gerrit Bart. Just to speed up the project...

Cheers,

Ramon

>>>EDIT:  The template skin for this site has changed since I created these instructions, so the screen shots will look different.  Once the site has matured enough where people like the current template, I will update these instructions.  The steps are the same but will just look different.

You have the token.  You've taken your Kite photos.  Now what?  Tell everyone about it!  The idea behind this blog is to document your time with the token, and post pictures for all to see. There are a few requirements:

  • You must be a registered user on this portal, and be logged in.
  • Currently this blog is moderated.  I am researching if there is a way around this, but currently all posts go into a pending mode awaiting approval from a Portal Administrator.  Ideally, you'd all be able to post directly.
  • Keep your commentary and thoughts on the KAP Forum.  Let's keep this blog exclusive to the token adventures.  We do encourage that you comment on each persons posts, as there is a section below each blog entry for that.
Step One: Assuming that you're logged into the portal and have publishing rights, click on the New Blog Entry Link in the Main Menu.  (This link will not appear if you are not logged in.)

Step 1: New Blog Entry

Step 2:  Title your blog post and add content.  You can use the WSIWYG editor to format your text, add pictures, and links.  To add an image using an external source like Flickr, click the icon that looks like a tree, and have your URL handy.    Tree Icon  (The joomla image in the example below is posted just to show you that images can be used in the post.)

Step 2: Write Post

Step 3:  Click on the Settings tab.  Ensure that the Publish Status is set to Published.  Ensure that the Comments drop down is set to enabled.

 Step 3: Settings Tab

Step 4:  Click on the Advanced Tab.  Set your metadata by filling in the description field and keywords.  Click Save to post to the blog.

This was the original post sent to the KAP forum inviting to share some ideas about doing a world wide collaborative project

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello everybody!!

I have an idea that I'd like to share with you....

First, you can check this Flickr group that I admin (http://www.flickr.com/groups/token/ ) to get some background....

The idea is quite simple, there is a token (in the case of that group was woodem mannequin "Woody"), that should appear in your pictures, and we pass from one participant to the next one.

In that case, we sign (make a tatoo to Woody) so your signature is present in the other participants pictures.

What do you think about doing something like this with the KAP community?

I think we could use a "banner or flag" as token... That would work this way, let's say I use banner as first token (And take a KAP picture of a kite flying with the flag atached) sign the banner (or add a logo) add it to the dedicated pool and send it to the next KAPer.... and so on....

What do you think? Will this work? And as the banner is lightweight material (say 2.5 by 1 meter) freight wont be too high if you'd ask me.

Let me know your thoughts.... would you like to participate?

Ideas are welcome....

Regards

Ramiro
